“The way you feel when you kiss him for the first time.

Like fire within your bones.

Like your soul has returned to the water.

Like every part of you that came from a dead star is alive again.”

- Nikita Gill

I’ve know Stefani for a few years and she’s not only one of the most talented women I know (brides check out her makeup & hair work The Bonafide Ginger!!!), but a true soul sister! She’s a mama of two and she had the most beautiful reasons for wanting to do this shoot; to connect with her husband with no kiddos around and to connect with her changing body. I can’t think of a better reason for a shoot!

When she asked me to do a couples boudoir shoot with her and her husband David, I was thrilled and also nervous since I’d never done something like that. I’ve made connection a focus of my photography and try to capture our couples as raw and themselves as I can so the idea of being truly raw was exciting. But then we both started looking at couples boudoir and realized that wasn’t what we were thinking! We both had the same idea for this shoot, raw emotions and minimalist. So I’m going to call this an intimate couples session unless someone has anything better :)

We spent over an hour in my studio and shot in two different spots, that was it! There was no mountain to climb or different locations to walk to, everything was slowed down and the focus was on just them and the connection between their bodies. Don’t get me wrong, I love climbing a mountain, nature speaks to my heart!! But if this type of shoot speaks to you, I’d love to start shooting more like this! In my studio or in a couples home! Reach out to me if you’re interested :)

For now, enjoy this intimate session :)
